Gowrie Village Estate
Estate Information
Security and Accessibility
Gowrie Village is an upmarket and stylish residential estate with 24/7 security, manned boom entry, electric fencing and coded access for guests within a relaxed country setting. The quiet streets, grassy verges and many parks and public areas make this a community that feels like a village. Yet it is just a few kilometres from the N3 highway, offering convenient access to Johannesburg, Pietermaritzburg and Durban.
The "Notties" Community
There is a strong sense of community here, and a group of locals have formed "Nottingham Road Refreshed (NRR)" which strives to keep Nottingham Road looking at its best. We are also active members of the Nottingham Road Landowners Association and the Nottingham Road Community Police Forum; helping to keep the community informed.
The busy Nottingham Road Library is run by volunteers and is situated over the road from Gowrie Village. There are several churches nearby including the historical St John’s Church opposite the Gowrie Village entrance.
There is a well-stocked Spar, several ATMs and a post office in Nottingham Road, as well as Nottingham Road police station with its helpful and award-winning team.
Bundu Networx offers connectivity for those who want to work from home or enjoy speedy access to the Internet.
There are a number of outdoor markets in the area (the Rosetta and Karkloof Farmers’ Markets and the Linga Lapa Craft Market) where the freshest, homemade produce and handmade goods can be purchased on certain weekends.
For animal lovers, there is a wide selection of open spaces to walk your dogs, and there are several veterinarians located within Nottingham Road. The Mooi River & District SPCA serves the area’s animal welfare needs.
